Pittsburgh Glass Works (a Vitro Company), the #1 manufacturer and distributor of automotive glass in North America has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer. This position will be located at our plant in Elkin, NC, and will report to the Quality Manager. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the Quality Team as a technical project leader, managing all product content to support meeting Program financial targets and ensuring manufacturing capability/feasibility in support of the APQP process
Facilitate root cause analysis using problem-solving tools to address customer concerns
Complete and obtain PPAP to launch new products on time
Support internal and external customers and be the single point of contact for all program-related communication
Generate and complete part bill of material in support of all products managed
Facilitate the engineering change process at the plant level
Ensure timely completion of all customer requested sample orders
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
3 years of professional (automotive or related industry) experience, automotive glass manufacturing experience preferred
General understanding of the automotive process and Tier I or OEM engineering experience
The ability to facilitate problem solving in a cross-functional team environment
APQP experience
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
Ability to multitask, high sense of urgency
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts
Working knowledge of IATF 16949 quality systems
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) for interactions with management, peers, other associates, vendors and contractors
Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and resolve problems, plan, organize and share information
Ability to work independently and manage projects to established timelines as performance is measured against project goals and specific assignments
